How Does a 2 Port IV Bag Work?
2 port IV bags work just like any other kind of standard IV bag in infusion therapy. The bag will be filled up with a fluid of some kind, which could be saline solution (sodium chloride), lactated Ringer’s solution, dextrose solution, or some other fluid. Once full and ready to use, the bag will be spiked and primed on one of its two ports by a nurse.
