What Is a 0.406mm Needle?
A 0.406mm needle is one that measures precisely 0.406mm in diameter. This is also known as a 27 gauge or 27 G needle, and it’s one of the smallest needle diameters used on a regular basis in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare institutions around the world.
There are many potential uses for 0.406mm needles. They may be used for anesthesia injections, for example, to deliver numbing medication into a part of the body before an operation, or they can be used to administer other kinds of medications through the skin to treat patients who are suffering from a range of diseases or illnesses.
0.406mm needles are often chosen for use in healthcare environments due to their very narrow size, allowing them to puncture the skin and penetrate the body with minimal risk of any unwanted injury, pain, or discomfort.

How Does a Tuberculin Syringe Work?
The way in which tuberculin syringes work is relatively simple. First, an injection site will be selected. This is usually in the patient's arm, and either the left or right arm may be chosen, depending on the patient's preferred hand. The tuberculin syringe will then be inserted into the layers of dermis on the forearm, halfway between the elbow and the rest, with the needle's bevel facing up. A small amount of tuberculin is then injected into the skin and the injection site will need to be monitored for a few days to observe the level of inflammation and reaction.
Tuberculin Syringe Sizes
Tuberculin syringes are all relatively similar in size, but there are some slight variations. It's possible to find 1/2ml tuberculin syringes, for example, as well as 1ml tuberculin syringes.
Tuberculin Syringe Types
Tuberculin syringes are all usually quite similar in terms of their style and design, but they can be divided into specific types. There are safety tuberculin syringes, for example, which feature needles that automatically or manually retract into the syringe after the injection in order to reduce the risk of needlestick injuries.
Tuberculin Syringe Uses
The main use of tuberculin syringes is for Mantoux tests or TB skin tests. These tests are carried out to determine whether or not a patient may have tuberculosis. Tuberculosis testing is carried out on a daily basis in many countries around the world, as tuberculosis is still a very prevalent infectious disease with millions of active cases diagnosed annually, especially across Asia and Africa.
