What Is a Biopsy Tray?
A biopsy tray is a piece of medical equipment used for storing and transporting the essential items used for a biopsy procedure. These items may include biopsy needles, biopsy forceps, syringes, containers, probes, scalpels, towels, bandages, wraps, and gauze.
A biopsy is when a sample of cells or a tissue sample is taken from a patient and then transported to a lab for testing and analysis. This is usually done when a patient has some sort of lump or abnormality which needs to be tested for suspicions of cancer or other possible diseases.
Biopsy trays are useful and important items in the medical world, and it’s possible to purchase wholesale biopsy trays with all the items needed to carry out a safe and efficient biopsy procedure.
It's also possible to simply buy individual trays on their own and use them to store the necessary biopsy components and pieces of equipment, purchased separately.

How Does a Biopsy Tray Work?
A biopsy trays is simply a receptacle or container for all of the necessary items used in a biopsy procedure. This kind of procedure may be carried out in a hospital, clinic, or doctor’s office. It usually begins with the testing area being cleaned and potentially numbed with the aid of an anesthesia injection. Once the anesthesia has taken effect, a biopsy needle can be inserted into the area and scans will be used to guide it into the right position. The needle can then be used to remove a tissue sample, which will be sucked up into a syringe and can then be placed in a container and transported to a lab.
Biopsy Tray Sizes
It's possible to find biopsy trays in a wide range of different sizes, from small and simple trays that contain just a couple of biopsy items to much larger trays with over a dozen different items included.
Biopsy Tray Types
All biopsy trays are more or less the same in terms of their shape and design, but they can vary in terms of their contents and the materials used to make them. Metal biopsy trays, for example, are easy to clean and reuse, while disposable biopsy trays are typically made of thin plastic and will be disposed of after use.
Biopsy Tray Uses
The main purpose of a biopsy tray is simply to store the necessary items used in a biopsy procedure. This kind of procedure is carried out whenever a doctor feels that a tissue sample needs to be taken from a patient for testing and analysis to potentially diagnose a disease or find out the cause of some sort of symptom or abnormality.
