What is a Uterine Curette?
Uterine Curette is a spoon-shaped tool designed to scrape and remove tissue from inside the uterus. The tissue removed from the uterus is checked by a microscope to see if there are any signs of bleeding or disease, such as cancer.
There are also disposable vacuum curettes which are made of rigid plastic with open end tips in both curved and straight designs, available in different sizes and shapes to reduce patient discomfort.
