Product Description

3M 2330 - ELECTRODE, ECG, RESTING, TAB STYLE, 10/CARD, 4000/CS

3M Red Dot ECG Resting Electrodes, 2330 - Short Term Diagnostics

The unique needs of resting ECG monitoring are met with the 3M family of electrodes designed for this critical diagnostic application. Whether your preference is for a tab or snap connection, 3M can fulfill the need. The 3M Red Dot resting electrodes are disposable with a silver/ silver chloride sensing element, are designed for a patient undergoing a short-term EKG diagnostic procedure while resting and are radiolucent.

  • Tab-style electrode has pressure-sensitive conductive adhesive that is easy to apply and remove, and provides rapid and intimate skin contact to ensure high quality trace pickup.
  • Radiolucent to minimize the need to replace or remove electrodes in most radiological imaging applications (except 2352).
  • Extra large tabs (2330, 2360) for easy handling and attachment.
  • Semi-stiff backing (2330, 2360) reduces roll-off and minimizes electrode lift.
  • Snap-style electrode (2352) has foam backing that is stretchable, comfortable and gentle to the skin.
  • Resting EKG Electrode, Tab Style

Resting EKG Electrode, Tab Style, 2360 electrode has a stronger adhesive than the 2330 electrode

Easy to apply and remove.

The reverse tab placement provides quick and easy access to the electrode for single-handed application. The tab is convenient for leadwire placement and for ease of removal.

Intimate skin contact.

The conductive adhesive on 3M Red Dot Resting EKG Electrodes provides intimate skin contact to ensure accurate EKG traces - even on challenging sites.

Superior adhesion.

Excellent adhesion with the flexibility to securely reposition the electrode saves clinician time and facility cost. 2360 is preferred choice when more aggressive adhesion is needed.

Defibrillation recoverable.

Red Dot Resting EKG Electrodes can continue to be used after defibrillation.

Precautions

  • To prevent dryout, electrodes should be used immediately after opening the package, except the 2360 resting tab electrode which should be used within 7 days of opening the pouch. The unused electrodes should remain stored in the opened pouch.
  • Do not apply electrodes over pantyhose.
  • For proper skin management and to minimize skin irritation:
  • Avoid placing an electrode on an irritated skin site.
  • Do not abrade a skin site more than one time.
  • Avoid placing electrodes on skin still wet from an alcohol wipe (dry thoroughly).
  • Do not use for long-term monitoring.

Instructions for Use

Before Electrode Application:

  • Select and prepare an electrode site according to your health care facilitys protocol for resting EKG monitoring.
  • The electrode site should be clean, dry and free of skin oil or lotion before application of the electrode to allow optimal electrode adhesion to skin. Application sites with heavy or curly hair that cannot be parted should be clipped.
  • For best trace quality, skin abrasion should be part of the skin preparation. Use 3M Red Dot Trace Prep as part of the skin preparation.

Electrode Application:

  • Remove electrode from the liner. Apply to skin at standard placement sites.
  • With tabs pointing toward the patients waist, firmly press electrodes to assure uniform contact.
  • For difficult areas such as hairy sites or contours (chest), use more downward pressure to increase adhesion.
  • Place all electrodes on patient before any clips are connected.
  • Recommended placement order is limb lead sites, followed by chest lead sites.

Leadwire/Clip Connection:

  • Attach clip-on connector to tab portion of electrode without clipping into adhesive.
  • Clip electrodes in the order of electrode application, limb leads first and then chest leads.
  • Ensure that metal of clip is in contact with conductor side (underside) of electrode tab.
  • Avoid leadwire tension on electrode tab. Position cable yoke to provide adequate leadwire slack. Rotate clip/adapter on leadwire terminal pin to reduce tension.

Note: This electrode can be repositioned upon initial application. Select a new skin site for reapplication.

MRI Safety Information

MR Conditional

Non-clinical testing demonstrated that the 3M Red Dot Resting EKG Electrodes 2330, 2360 and 9650 are MR Conditional. A patient with this device can be scanned safely in an MR system immediately after placement under the following conditions:

  • Static magnetic field of 3-Tesla or less
  • Maximum spatial gradient magnetic field of 4,000-gauss/cm (40-T/m)(extrapolated) or less
  • Maximum MR system reported, whole body averaged specific absorption rate (SAR) of 2-W/kg for 15 minutes of scanning (i.e., per pulse sequence) in the Normal Operating Mode of operation for the MR system
  • Under the scan conditions defined for the 3M Red Dot resting electrodes are expected to produce a maximum temperature rise of 1.3C after 15-minutes of continuous scanning (i.e., per pulse sequence).

Artifact Information

In non-clinical testing, the image artifact caused by the 3M Red Dot resting electrodes extends approximately 1-mm from the 3M Red Dot resting electrodes when imaged using a gradient echo pulse sequence and a 3-Tesla MR system.
