Recommended for over two decades, CIV-Flex covers are now available in lengths of 12, 24, 36, 58 and 96 inches. The extended length covers offer additional sterile protection when performing routine puncture and drainage procedures. The improved telescopic-fold allows for easy application of gel, as well as easy application of the cover onto the transducer. Sterile general purpose procedure kits include transducer cover, sterile gel packet and colored elastic bands. Select covers offer a three-dimensional "box end." Not made with natural rubber latex.

Cover Indications for Use / Intended Use

Protective cover or sheath placed over diagnostic ultrasound transducer / probe / scanhead instruments. The cover allows use of the transducer in scanning and needle guided procedures for body surface, endocavity, and intra-operative diagnostic ultrasound, while helping to prevent transfer of microorganisms, body fluids, and particulate material to the patient and healthcare worker during reuse of the transducer (both sterile and non-sterile covers). The cover also provides a means for maintenance of a sterile field (sterile covers only). CIVCO Poly Ultrasound Transducer Covers are furnished sterile & non-sterile; single use patient / procedure, disposable.

CIVCO Ultrasound Transducer Covers Serve as Effective Viral Barrier

For nearly 20 years, all CIVCO transducer covers have served as effective viral barriers for protection against microbial migration, including viruses, bacteria and bloodborne pathogens.

CIVCOs natural rubber latex, polyethylene, and polyurethane (CIV-Flex), and polyisoprene (NeoGuard) general purpose, endocavity and Surgi transducer covers have been tested by an independent laboratory under protocol complying with ASTM F1671 to evaluate the barrier properties to penetration by bloodborne pathogens using viral penetration as a test system.

The tests conducted on the CIVCO probe covers with Bacteriophage ?X174 Virus rest on the protocol adapted from those used to evaluate barrier properties and resistance of surgeon glove materials. Based on the results of the clinical study, the CIVCO ultrasound probe covers provide effective barrier to the penetration of microbial migration.

CIVCO covers provide a thin, conformal protective cover system for ultrasound transducer usage in the body surface, endocavity and intra-operative patient environments; help prevent transfer of microorganisms, body fluids and particulate material to the patient and healthcare during the reuse of transducer; and help maintain the sterile field where applicable.
