ACTICOAT FLEX 3 & 7 Silver-Coated Antimicrobial Barrier Dressing
ACTICOAT Flex 3 & 7 are effective antimicrobial barrier dressings. The Nanocrystalline silver coating rapidly kills a broad spectrum of bacteria in as little as 30 mins. ACTICOAT Flex 3 & 7 consist of a single layer of knitted polyester to ensure ultimate flexibility and comfort during wear time for the patient.
ACTICOAT Flex 3 and ACTICOAT Flex 7 are designed to conform to the bodys contours to help you take control against infection in chronic wounds.
The ACTICOAT Flex 3 and ACTICOAT Flex 7 dressings consist of a flexible low adherent polyester layer coated with our patented silver technology. ACTICOAT Flex 3 and ACTICOAT Flex 7 are highly conformable dressings that follow the bodys contours to maintain contact with the wound surface.
The dressings are low adherent, which helps minimise wound trauma at dressing changes. The antimicrobial barrier properties of ACTICOAT Flex 3 remain effective for a minimum of 3 days and ACTICOAT Flex 7 remains effective for a minimum of 7 days.

New ACTICOAT Flex Can Be Used Anywhere On the Body
ACTICOAT Flex 3 and Flex 7 are antimicrobial barrier dressings which contour to the surface of the body providing intimate contact on application. Both ACTICOAT Flex 3 and Flex 7 are bactericidal within 30 minutes of application and are effective against a broad spectrum of wound pathogens.
Indications
ACTICOAT Flex 3 and 7 are indicated as an antimicrobial barrier layer over partial and full thickness wounds such as burns, recipient graft sites, surgical sites, venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and diabetic ulcers. ACTICOAT Flex 3 and 7 may be used on infected wounds. Where the product is used on infected wounds the infection should be inspected and treated as per local clinical protocol. ACTICOAT Flex 3 and 7 may be used as a wound contact layer in combination with Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) for a period of up to 3 days.
- First and second degree burns
- Covering of grafts

Instructions for Use
Contraindications
- Do not use on patients with a known sensitivity to silver
- Do not use on a patient undergoing MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) examination
- Prior to administering radiation therapy, remove ACTICOAT Flex 3 & 7. A new dressing can be applied following treatment.
Precautions
- ACTICOAT Flex 3 & 7 are not compatible with oil-based products, such as petrolatum.
- Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels during electronic measurements e.g. EEG and ECG.
- For external use only, for example do not apply the dressing to exposed organs.
- This device is not intended for use on 3rd degree burns.
- ACTICOAT Flex 3 & 7 should only be used on premature infants (less than 37 weeks gestation) when the clinical benefit outweighs the potential risks.
- ACTICOAT Flex 3 & 7 are not intended to provide sole treatment for infected wounds. ACTICOAT Flex 3 & 7 may be used on infected wounds which are being managed per local clinical protocol.
- There may be transient pain (or stinging) experienced on application of ACTICOAT Flex 3 & 7. This can be minimized be carefully following the application instructions. Should continuous pain be experienced after application, remove the dressing and discontinue use.
- The color of the dressing may vary. This does not affect the performance of the dressing.
