Purple Enteral Extension Sets

The NeoMed Enteral Only Extension Set is indicated for use in neonatal and pediatric patients in connection with a nasogastric/orogastric enteral feeding tubes to provide nutrition via nasal or oral gastric placements.

The ADA recommends that the hang times for human milk and formula in the NICU or for other immune-suppressed patients should be 4 hours or less.Infant Feedings: Guidelines for Preparation of Human Milk and Formula in Health care Facilities. • Unique tethered plug closure on the female inlet connector provides better protection from ambient air compared to open ended sets.
• New design of the male adapter improves the strength of connection to enteral only feeding tubes mitigating overstretching of the feeding tube hubs.
• Y-site and large bore tubing offer choices from a full line of innovative and cost effective enteral only extension sets.
• USP Class VI PVC tubing isnot made with DEHP or BPA.

The NeoMed Enteral Only Extension Set incorporates safety connectors which help mitigate the risk of accidental connection of an I.V. system to the enteral system or the enteral system to an I.V. system. NeoMed Enteral Only Extension sets are not made with natural rubber latex, DEHP or BPA.

NeoMed extension sets are provided in a variety of configurations:

• Standard extension sets have one proximal and one distal enteral port.
• Enteral ports can be male or female. Bifurcated extension sets allow for medication or additional nutritional delivery without disrupting the feeding line.
• Bifurcated extension sets provide an additional proximal enteral port.
• Double bifurcated extension sets provide two proximal enteral ports and two distal enteral ports.
• Large bore extension sets facilitate delivery of thicker (more viscous) nutrition.
• Extension sets with a drip chamber provide a visual indicator of nutritional flow.
• Sampling Straws allow for aseptic withdrawal and transfer of fluid from a container, and are not designed to directly connect to an enteral feeding tube.
